This week, as we observe Dyslexia Awareness Week 2025, we have been reading about the movement to “Raise the Volume” – to amplify the voices, stories, and needs of people with dyslexia and neurodivergent minds.

At Form Fighter, we believe in building tools that don’t just work – but include, empower, and adapt. Neurodivergent individuals (including those with dyslexia) should be able to engage more confidently and independently with digital forms and online experiences.

Neurodivergence, Dyslexia & Digital Barriers

Neurodivergent individuals bring extraordinary strengths: creativity, pattern recognition, out-of-the-box thinking, perseverance. Yet in our digital world, they often face hidden barriers:

  • Visual clutter, inconsistent layouts, or overly dense text can overload working memory or attention.
  • Instructions phrased ambiguously or with multiple steps may cause confusion or hesitation.
  • Rigid validations or error messages that lack clear guidance can lead to frustration.
  • Tools built with neurotypical assumptions may inadvertently exclude or slow down users who think differently.

“Yet most AI frameworks reflect neurotypical assumptions, excluding the very people who could help them break through the noise.”

Even AI systems can suffer from bias against neurodiversity unless intentionally designed to be more inclusive.

If we want truly universal products, we must consider how to accommodate different ways of perceiving, processing, and interacting with information.

Why This Matters (Especially During Dyslexia Awareness Week)

  • Inclusion unlocks potential – When barriers are lowered, neurodivergent users can interact more independently, without needing external help or repeated retries.
  • Equity in access –  Digital forms often gatekeep opportunities (job applications, reports, admin). Ensuring those forms work for everyone ensures fairer access.
  • User trust & loyalty – A seamless, considerate experience builds respect and loyalty. Users notice when a tool “just works” for them.
  • Amplifying underheard voices – This week’s theme, “Raise the Volume,” reminds us that many neurodivergent experiences remain marginalized. We want to help shift that.

To everyone reading this – whether neurodivergent or neurotypical – our call is simple: listen, adapt, include. At Form Fighter, we’ll keep working towards making digital experiences more accessible and equitable. With a big thank you to Web Usability for helping us do this!

SHORT VERSION

Dyslexia Awareness Week 2025 (6–12 Oct)

This week, we’ve been reading about the movement to “Raise the Volume” – amplifying the voices and needs of people with dyslexia and other neurodivergent minds.

At Form Fighter, we believe tools should include, empower, and adapt. Our mission is to make any form interactions smoother, fairer, and more human – for everyone.

🧠 Why it matters
Neurodivergent people bring creativity, pattern recognition, and resilience – yet often face hidden digital barriers like visual clutter, confusing instructions, or rigid error messages. Inclusive design means rethinking these everyday experiences.

🌍 Inclusion unlocks potential.
Digital forms can often gatekeep opportunities – from job applications to reports and RfPs. Designing with neurodiversity in mind builds trust, equity, and independence.

To everyone reading this – whether neurodivergent or neurotypical – our call is simple: listen, adapt, include. At Form Fighter, we’ll keep working towards making digital experiences more accessible and equitable.
